Lionsgate Partners With The Award Winning Morning Show To Air Highly Anticipated Footage From The Film On November 14th, 2011

SANTA MONICA, CA (November 10, 2011) – LIONSGATE® (NYSE: LGF), a leading global entertainment company, today announced an exclusive partnership with ABC’s Good Morning America to world premiere the highly anticipated trailer for THE HUNGER GAMES.

The debut will be hosted in person by actor Josh Hutcherson (THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT), who plays the pivotal character of Peeta Mellark in the film, in the top rated 8:00 hour of the show on Monday, November 14th. In addition to airing nationwide, the trailer will also be shown in its entirety on Good Morning America’s jumbotron in New York City’s Times Square.

The partnership, which further distinguishes the film as a major motion picture event, will mark the first time ever that audiences will be exposed to sights and sounds from the film such as Katniss’ home District 12 and the opulent Capitol. With 16 million copies of The Hunger Games in circulation, a vast audience of book fans will also undoubtedly tune in for the first chance to hear the beloved characters speak iconic lines of dialogue from its pages.

The Hunger Games Has Officially Finished Filming!

SANTA MONICA, CA (September 15, 2011) – LIONSGATE® (NYSE: LGF), a leading global entertainment company, today announced the close of principal photography on the highly anticipated film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ runaway bestselling novel The Hunger Games. Lionsgate will release THE HUNGER GAMES on March 23, 2012. The film is the first in a series that Lionsgate is making based on the book trilogy that has become a worldwide phenomenon.

Filmed entirely in North Carolina, the locations spanned from a dense forest in which the arena that hosts the games themselves was created to a town that stood in for Katniss’ home, District 12, to a sound stage that was the platform for the fantastical sights and sounds of The Capitol, the futuristic capital city of the nation of Panem. Principal photography on the 84 day production began on May 23rd.

The film pairs Oscar® nominee Jennifer Lawrence (WINTER’S BONE, X-MEN FIRST CLASS) with Josh Hutcherson (THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT) and Liam Hemsworth (THE LAST SONG) in the key young adult roles. Although the intensely anticipated sets were closed to press and visitors, Lionsgate and the filmmakers were able to reach out and touch the incredibly eager fans several times during the production process.

Lionsgate debuted the central cast trio through two Entertainment Weekly covers, featuring Jennifer Lawrence in character as Katniss and Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth in character as Peeta and Gale. It marked the first time that a studio has revealed a principal cast of film characters on sequential national magazine covers.

Winners of “The Ultimate Hunger Games Fan Sweeps,” a global contest where fans entered to win the opportunity to be flown to the set of THE HUNGER GAMES, was the one exception to the film’s closed set policy. In mid August, five winners from around the world and their guests got a glimpse of the sets, observed the filming of a scene and met the cast.

A heavily promoted first look at footage from the film debuted on MTV’s 2011 Video Music Awards on August 28th. The show attracted MTV’s biggest audience in the network’s history with a record-breaking 12.4 million total viewers.

REVIEWS&RAMBLINGS: What can I say about the Hunger Games Teaser Trailer?

So, yeah. Almost everybody has already seen the teaser trailer for the movie adaptation for The Hunger Games. Some LIKED IT. Some LOVED IT. Some are just a SO-SO.

Well for me, I was pretty much expecting that the teaser trailer will showcase clips from the movie not just a clip from a certain scene of the movie, do you get what I'm trying to say? I was hoping that it would include at least their names being called in the day of the reaping, the Katniss and Gale moment in the woods and most of all Peeta and Katniss moments. I was really eager to see the chemistry of Katniss and Peeta, but sadly we didn't get to see that.

But on the bright side, the teaser trailer was also good because of the voice over of the lines of Gale in it, the background music that they matched for the scene AND the one that I liked the most is at the end of the trailer, RUE'S FOUR NOTE (and don't forget it's already available in ITunes, download it now!). That just made it for me.

By that I just hope, the full trailer of the movie will be better than this one! And please include Peeta and Katniss scenes, I really need to see them together. 'Cause until now, I'm still trying to picture in my mind how Jennifer and Josh will work on-screen. So, please help me figure out that. Haha. :D

Hungry for Hunger Games!

I've never thought that I would be doing a blog post about HUNGER GAMES. I’ve never thought that I would be this hooked to it. I’ve never thought that I’ll end up thinking about it all the time. I’ve never thought that I’ll be spending time with my friends and telling them how good this book is. I’ve never thought that I’ll end up recommending this book to other people. I’ve never thought that I’ll be reminiscing Katniss and Peeta moments in my head, all day long.
I just never thought that this could be possible because for the fact that at first I didn’t have the interest to read it, thinking that this is just SOME book. But I was totally and completely wrong about it.

Now, I’m just eating all the words that I’ve said about it. Now, I’m hungry for more. I’m hungry for anything and everything related to it. Uhmmm… It includes the trailer for the movie (which I’m really craving to get a glimpse of the actors portraying their respective roles), movie stills (Katniss and Peeta, please. I want to see how they are on-screen.), promotions and the movie itself.

So 2012, please come faster. Surely it will be another year of EPICNESS.

THE STORY

The story that Suzanne Collins is unlike any other, she fused elements from the real world to her own world. The very obvious thing is the fascination of people to reality TV shows. Every time we turn on our television sets at home, surely there will be channel in our cable that’s airing a reality show at the moment. People just love watching those shows, even though for some reason I think it’s just a stupid show. Scripted and all those kinds of stuffs. Not that I resent reality shows, but that’s just my opinion about it.

Anyways, in the book she used that concept; Hunger Games is somewhat a reality TV show, the “survival of the fittest”type. It is being aired in the whole area of Panem and everybody is encouraged to watch. Strategies, “how you want to present yourself to the public”, was also used in the book. It was obviously seen there when they were about to be interviewed and they were asked what type of person they want to be known and seen by the public. Suzanne Collins is very clever to incorporate this in her books.

THE CHARACTERS

New female book hero of this generation…the MOCKINGJAY, Katniss Everdeen. She was presented as a very loving (volunteering herself rather than seeing her sister in pain and in a difficult situation) and brave girl. She’ll do anything and everything in her power just to fulfill whatever she wants to attain. Everything about her just speaks about being a PERFECT HERO. A novel wouldn’t be complete without boys vying for the girl’s love. Peeta Mellark, the guy who have known and loved her for forever and Gale Hawthorne, her bestfriend, hunting partner and who is also in love with her. Katniss is a very lucky girl to have two gorgeous boys at her feet. Hmmm. Who will she choose? For those, who haven’t read it yet…then I’m not giving spoilers here. Read the books.

Katniss and Peeta Moments

The end of this trilogy is really lacking with this stuffs. I’m hungry for more Katniss and Peeta moments. Mockingjay was obviously centered on their revenge against the Capitol.
But shifting gears, Book 1 and 2 have epic moments of this two. Even though it’s just for a good PR, those scenes still make my heart melt. Oh Peeta…all the things that you say make me want to jump up and down.

Okay. This post is getting longer and I think I need to end this already.
So.

The Hunger Games...reading it!

So, this is the part where I say that I'm biting my tongue again. I never would've thought that I would be reading this series. When I first tried to read this book, I was like what is this thing all about, I can't even comprehend to the things that were written in it. But maybe, it was just another effect of my lack of sleep that day. With that I've decided to just leave the book alone and will just get back at it when I feel to.

Today, when I was resting in my bed all of a sudden I just grabbed my android phone and start scrolling on the books that were saved in it. And that's where I saw the Hunger Games Trilogy again. Then I've decided to give it one more shot, and if I still cannot understand the whole flow of the story, I will seriously give up and will just wait for the movie.

Oh well, I guess you know that I'm actually reading it and I can say that the story is a one of a kind story and it's uber cool. :)

And I can say, that I'm super excited for the movie! :) 2012 will surely be an EPIC year for moviegoers. :)
