#NP: Science & Faith by The Script

Lyrics:

Tried to break love to a science
In an act of pure defiance
I broke her heart.
As i pulled apart her theories
As i watched her growing weary
I pulled her apart
Having heavy conversations
About the furthest constellations of our souls. oh
We're just trying to find some meaning
In the things that we believe in
But we got some ways to go.
Of all of the things that she's ever said
She goes and says something that just knocks me dead.

You won't find faith or hope down a telescope
You won't find heart and soul in the stars
You can break everything down to chemicals
But you can't explain a love like ours.

Ooohhhh
It's the way we feel, yeah this is real
Ooohhhh
It's the way we feel, yeah this is real

I tried pushing evolution
As the obvious conclusion of the start.
But it was for my own amusement
Saying love was an illusion of a hopeless heart.
Of all of the things that she's ever said
She goes and says something that knocks me dead.

You won't find faith or hope down a telescope
You won't find heart and soul in the stars
You can break everything down to chemicals
But you can't explain a love like ours.

Ooohhhh
It's the way we feel, yeah this is real.
Ooohhhh
It's the way we feel, yeah this is real.

Of all of the things that she's ever said
She goes and says something that just knocks me dead

You won't find faith or hope down a telescope
You won't find heart and soul in the stars
You can break everything down to chemicals
But you can't explain a love like ours.

Ooohhhh
It's the way we feel, yeah this is real
Ooohhhh
It's the way we feel, yeah this is real

Hope you like this song tooo! :)

The Hunger Games...reading it!

So, this is the part where I say that I'm biting my tongue again. I never would've thought that I would be reading this series. When I first tried to read this book, I was like what is this thing all about, I can't even comprehend to the things that were written in it. But maybe, it was just another effect of my lack of sleep that day. With that I've decided to just leave the book alone and will just get back at it when I feel to.

Today, when I was resting in my bed all of a sudden I just grabbed my android phone and start scrolling on the books that were saved in it. And that's where I saw the Hunger Games Trilogy again. Then I've decided to give it one more shot, and if I still cannot understand the whole flow of the story, I will seriously give up and will just wait for the movie.

Oh well, I guess you know that I'm actually reading it and I can say that the story is a one of a kind story and it's uber cool. :)

And I can say, that I'm super excited for the movie! :) 2012 will surely be an EPIC year for moviegoers. :)

The MORTAL INSTRUMENTS series is AMAZING!

Okay. I'm admitting it, I'm really addicted to this series. Everyday I'm questioning myself, why haven't I read this book since it came out? Hmmm.. Maybe I was busy with other stuffs, reading other books/series, busy about The Twilight Saga and Robsten and especially school. But now that I've got the time, I finally made to read it and I really didn't expect that I would love it and be addicted to it.

People were like really recommending this series to me since I started asking on Twitter for recommendations of books for my Weekly Book Report. Thanks to those people who recommended this to me and yeah, you're the reason for my addiction to this books.

While I was reading it, I can really picture it out in the movie screens. Little did I know, that it will be really made into one. I was super ecstatic when I've learned about it, jumping over the moon and I feel like I'm in heaven. Seriously. Learning that Jamie Campbell-Bower will be the one playing Jace Wayland, wow. He is perfect for the role! I really can see him fit to Jace's character perfectly.

Now, I will be patiently waiting for the movies to come...But please don't make us wait for forever.

So, I leave you with this..

Who loves this series too? Comment on the post. I would really love to talk to you, guyz!

Song for the DAY: For Annabelle by BAND OF HORSES (Thanks to Kristen!)

Lyrics:

If I want to walk home with you
Hearing every word, thinking it's true
In a barren field for us to cut through
On our victory lap 'cross an old street cat

That turns to stop and see you
A small stone somewhere in your shoe
All day long
All day long
Long

The old folks wake up for the day
Seeing the monsters have lingered from the past
And a great bird is flying away
From our family tree; something wrong with me

I've got a secret or two
Hiding somewhere but
It won't take long
No it won't take long
Long

10:33 - Introducing Bill Condon, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Rob Pattinson
10:34 - All four on stage now.
10:34 - Rob had trouble finding a seat.. typical rob.
10:34 - First question: What was it like fimling in Brazil, how does it feel to be loved all over the world?
10:34- Bill Condon: I know it's very hard (laughs). Filming in Brazil was great. It was amazing.. that's where Stephenie wrote the honeymoon. To actually go there was great. We found the area she described. We got stranded.
Kristen: It was nice being able to shoot on the actual streets. To see that within the context of the movie is jarring.
10:36 - Rob: I'm just going to moderate. It's nice. One of the nice things about having an international fan base.. going to different countries there are different fan reactions. In Brazil fans would literally try to go up and grab you on the set. It was fun. In the shot.
10:36 - Taylor: I do love Brazil but I was not there. They came back and showed me this picture of an extra who looked just like me. They showed me this picture.. it was the weirdest thing. Didn't you guys have to place him further back in case the camera showed up?
Kristen: He looked like an Eclipse poster.
Bill: (joking) we rewrote the story and included you!
10:37- Question: Do you think the Breaking Dawn movies will truly be the end of the saga? or will there be a spin off?
10:37 - Rob: Like, "Breakfast time." (laughs) "Twilight, Eclipse, Brunch"..
Rob: it's up to Stephenie really.
Taylor: I agree.
Bill: It's the end of the Bella/Edward story. Especially in the second movie there are so many new characters I expect she'll want to revisit them at some point.
Taylor: It sounds like oyu have some secret knowledge!
10:38 - Question: out of all the twilight films, what was the most secretive scene you had to film. And which was most exposed to fans:
Kristen: The wedding was insane. Secret service style. The crew was incredibly inconvienenced. No cell phone, etc. They wanted to keep the dress secret.
10:39 - Bill: There was a helicopter as soon as you were ready to take the vows.
Kristen: I had a volturi cloak on cause I had to cover up and that was the only thing we could use.
10:39 - Question: Couldn't hear the question.. something about Brazil.
10:40 - Kristen: We didn't know we were being photographed. That was weird afterward.
Taylor: This movie.. a lot of the movie takes place inside, so most of the time spent we were in Baton Rogue. We had two months in Vancouver. But Breaking Dawn is very intimate. I feel like they did a good job of letting us be creative.

Favorite Parts from The Perks of Being a Wallflower...

So, yeah. I totally loved the book and I really can't wait for the movie to be released! 2012, come faster...but it also means that The Twilight Saga will come to an end.. WAAAA!

Logan Lerman, Emma Watson and Nina Dobrev will star in the movie version of The Perks of Being a Wallflower. The book's author will also be it's director. How cool is that! I think, that this movie will be really good.

I've got nothing to do in our house, so here I am blogging and will be posting my favorite parts of the book. Hope you enjoy it, and may be you'll be inspired to read the book too. By the way, the book is really a good read.

This things that I'll be posting is from the end part of the book...It's just three scenes that I like.

"Charlie, don't you get it? I can't feel that. It's sweet and everything, but it's like you're not even there sometimes. It's great that you can listen and be a shoulder to someone, but what about when someone doesn't need a shoulder. What if they need the arms or something like that? You can't just sit there and put everybody's lives ahead of yours and think that counts as love. You just can't. You have to do things." ~ Sam

"So, I guess we are who we are for a lot of reasons. And maybe we'll never know most of them. But even if we don't have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there. We can still do things. And we can try to feel okay about them.I think that if I ever have kids, and they are upset, I won't tell them that people are starving in China or anything like that because it wouldn't change the fact that they were upset. And even if somebody else has it much worse, that doesn't really change the fact that you have what you have. Good and bad." ~ Charlie

"...I listened to the music and thought about all the things that people have said to me over the past year. I thought about Bill telling me I was special. And my sister saying she loved me. And my mom, too. And even my dad and brother when I was in the hospital. I thought about Patrick calling me his friend. And I thought about Sam telling me to do things. To really be there. And I just thought how great it was to have friends and a family. As we went into the tunnel I didn't hold up my arms like I was flying. I just let the wind rush over my face. And I started crying and smiling at the same time. Because I couldn't help feeling just how much I loved my aunt Helen for buying me two presents. And how much I wanted the present I bought my mom for my birthday to be really special. And how much I wanted my sister and brother and Sam and Patrick and everyone else to be happy. But mostly, I was crying because I was suddenly very aware of the fact that it was me standing up in that tunnel with the wind over my face. Not caring if I saw downtown. Not even thinking about it. Because I was standing in the tunnel. And I was really there. And that was enough to make me feel infinite." ~ a part of the last entry in Charlie's diary.

Okay. Done. For those who haven't read the book, read it! :) Hahaha.
I also made a book report of this, click here

NOTE: The quoted parts are really from the book, THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER by STEPHEN CHBOSKY.

Skyscraper Music Video!

Demi's comeback single, Skyscraper has a music video already!
Wohooo!
Demi Lovato Fans, let's celebrate! :)

In just one week, Demi's back to business. Music charts be ready for her, she's coming back so strong.  And she's ready to topple off every song that is out in the airwaves. I'm sure, her album will be really good because of the things she had gotten through in her life and  will make her songs more personal than ever. I'm stoked for the release of her album!

She released the single on the 12th and the following day her music video for Skyscraper was posted in her official VEVO account ~

It is really an emotional song, and a plus is her vocals which makes it perfect. Her vocals in this song is very powerful and you can really feel the emotion that she's having at that time. We can feel the pain and the vulnerability of Demi as the song progresses.

Skyscraper's lyrics has a very powerful message and really fits with happened in her life. It talks about standing up and "rising from the ground", even if there's something or someone who tries to tear you down. I think the song is aiming to help teenagers who experiences stuffs in their life, like when they feel like everybody can just stomp in and out of their lives and leaving them hurt and feeling bad for them selves. This song encourages them to stand back up and face the challenges and these events with their heads held up high and not showing defeat.

Chorus: "You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
Like I'm made of glass
Like I'm made of paper, Oh
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground"

Characters and Characterization:
  • ·         Charlie ~ the youngest among the three, a fifteen year-old boy. He’s the one who writes and shares his story to us through his diary. Charlie’s diary holds every important event that happened to him on his freshmen year in high school, the ups and downs of his life included.
  • ·          Charlie’s brother ~ he is the oldest of the three siblings. He plays football.
  • ·          Charlie’s sister ~ she was often described by Charlie as a very pretty girl, mean to boys, bratty and a straight A’s student. She’s very secretive to her parents, in terms of boys. She doesn’t have a good relationship with Charlie, but events happened and she’s got no one to turn to, except her brother. That’s the part where they start to have interactions, like sister-and-brother moments.
  • ·          Charlie’s mom and dad ~ parents who were always there for their kids.
  • ·          Aunt Helen ~ deceased aunt of Charlie. She is Charlie’s favorite person in the world.
  • ·      Patrick (a.k.a Nothing) ~ classmate of Charlie in shop class. He is very hilarious, does impersonating and other stuffs that makes people laugh. It was revealed in the story that Patrick is gay and he is with Brad (on the football team), but they’re keeping their relationship as a secret to avoid everything that may possibly happen if this news blows up.
  • ·       Sam ~ she’s Patrick’s sister. Charlie’s really in love with her. In the book, she’s described by Charlie as “smart and fun” and “very very pretty and nice”. Charlie even wrote in his diary, “…she was the first girl I ever wanted to ask on a date someday when I can drive”. In the most part of the book, she was dating Craig.
  • ·    Mary Elizabeth ~ she’s part of Charlie’s circle of friends. As Charlie describes her in the book, “very interesting person” and “really smart and pretty person”, she’s in-charge of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. There was also a time in the story that Mary Elizabeth and Charlie dated.
  • ·          Alice, Bob, Susan, Craig, Peter, Bill ~ these are the people whom Charlie also spends time too. They are also part of what Charlie has become in the whole story.

Setting: UNKNOWN.

Plot:

The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a story about growing up. It will open our minds and hearts and make us see life in the eyes of a fifteen year-old boy, through his diary. Charlie, a freshman student, thrown into the real world and faces different kinds of issues a teenager in his age would have. From the first group of friends he has, to his first crush, first date, first kiss, first love, first time to experience drugs and every first that is imaginable is explored and introduced to us in his diary. The story was just basically a narration of his life, his experiences as a child, as a brother, as a student, as a friend, as a boyfriend and as an ordinary boy who blames himself for the death of his Aunt Helen. The ups and downs of his life were written in his diary, and he also shared how he overcomes his problems in life.

So, I guess we are who we are for a lot of reasons. And maybe we'll never know most of them. But even if we don't have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there. We can still do things. And we can try to feel okay about them”, Charlie writes this down in the diary.

DEMI LOVATO: SKYSCRAPER

This is the first single from Demi's third studio album, with a very strong, powerful message in its lyrics.

SKYSCRAPER by DEMI LOVATO

are crying
I am watching
Catching teardrops in my hands
Only silence as it's ending, like we never had a chance
Do you have to, make me feel like there is nothing left of me?

[Chorus]
You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
Like i'm made of glass
Like i'm made of paper
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper!
Like a skyscraper!

[Demi Lovato]
As the smoke clears
I awaken, and untangle you from me
Would it make you, feel better to watch me while I bleed?
All my windows, still are broken
But I'm standing on my feet

[Chorus]
You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am

Like I'm made of glass
Like I'm made of paper
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper!
Like a skyscraper!

[Bridge]
Go run, run, run
I'm gonna stay right here
Watch you disappear, yeah
Go run, run, run
Yeah it's a long way down
But I am closer to the clouds up here

[Demi Lovato]
You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
Like I'm made of glass
Like I'm made of paper, Oh
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground

Like a skyscraper!
Like a skyscraper!

Like a skyscraper!
Like a skyscraper!

Book: Water For Elephants by Sara Gruen

Jacob Jankowski, is what every old person is in the nursing facility, forgets his real age “ninety or ninety-three years old” as he says and other bits of his life. But one important part of his life that he doesn’t forget is when he accidentally joins a circus and makes his life out of it. He then reminisces and tells his story.

At twenty-three years old, Jacob was a veterinary student at Cornell University and has his adult life planned out. Study, graduate and be a licensed veterinarian just like his dad. But everything changes when his parents met a car accident and suddenly turning his whole world upside-down. With no home, no family, no money, he decides to leave his town and tried to never look back.

Then he basically jumps on a train and it was not just an ordinary one; but it was the train for the “Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth”. He then joins the circus as its official “veterinarian” as appointed by Uncle Al. He met August, the head trainer who mistreat the animals on the circus; Marlena, the star performer and the wife of August and Rosie, the elephant that he trains and works with most of the time. There was instant connection between the three of them, Jacob, Marlena and Rosie. So, somewhere along the way the lines went blurry, Jacob and Marlena fell in love with each other.

With August sensing of what’s happening between the two, he comes and warns Jacob. Marlena left the circus and stayed at a certain hotel. With Marlena out of the picture, Uncle Al comes forward and tells Jacob that August is mentally ill and threatens him to reunite the couple or else somebody from the workers will be red-lighted.
Uncle Al’s threat didn’t work. Jacob then visits Marlena at the hotel and slept with her. Declaration of their love for each other soon followed. Right after that, Marlena returns at the circus but doesn’t want to be near August, which makes Uncle Al angry.

Jacob planned to kill August but suddenly backs out and returns to their room, only seeing an empty one. He realizes that those workers occupying the room were red-lighted and he was supposed to be joining that bunch. Seeking revenge, those workers returns the circus. They released the animals from the cages which caused a stampede and making this the “Greatest Disaster of All Time”. August was killed during the stampede, because of Rosie, who plunges the stake that’s attached to her, and directly hitting him into his head.
With that, the circus was shut down. Jacob, Marlena and together with some of the animals from the circus began their life together.

Back to the present, Jacob is waiting for his children. They were supposed to be taking him to the circus show but it seems like there isn’t anybody coming for him. Jacob decides to go to circus alone and there he met Charlie, the manager. He begged Charlie to let him buy the ticket and watch the show. And being there and watching the show, Jacob just felt that he’s back to his home.

MOVIE PICK OF THE WEEK: TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON

Story...Check!
Casting...Check!
Special Effects...Check!
Background Music/Soundtrack...Check!
Highly Recommended!

Story

SuperB. Still asking why? It is for the fact that the story line has been obviously given so much thought. It is not everyday that we see movies that has historical events incorporated in its story line. They've crafted and woven everything like it really happened.

Now, I'm gonna stop. So, that I'm not gonna spoil anything to those people who haven't watched the movie yet.

By the way, KUDOS to the Scriptwriters of the movie!

Casting

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, the one who replaced Megan Fox, LOVE HER! Rosie did a great job in introducing her character, Carly. I love her especially on the parts of the movie wherein she is screaming and it's like people will follow through and scream too. It adds effects on the scenes. Well done, Rosie!

Special Effects

Well, duh? This is TRANSFORMERS we're talking about. No doubt on the GREAT SPECIAL EFFECTS. The effects are basically all through out the movie.
But, sad to say, I didn't watched it in 3d because I'm a "red-eyed monster" (sore eyes..huhu)That's okay, I enjoyed the movie and that's it.

Background Music/Soundtrack

I'm a MUSIC addict. Well, what can I say Transformers also did great in this department! Love the songs from Paramore, Linkin Park, Goo Goo Dolls, everybody on the soundtrack.

I'm a very happy autobot! :)

And now leaving you with the movie trailer!

NOTE: If you haven't watched the movie, then go now to the theaters near you. It's a must to watch this movie!
Post some comments or tweet me up @AmandaNicolette regarding Transformers!

SOUNDTRACK PICK OF THE WEEK: TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON

Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, Goo Goo Dolls and Paramore, Hell Yes!
Thumbs Up!

I love how this soundtrack has been compiled and put up, with songs having different genres. Just like the songs of Linkin Park and Paramore.

Linkin Park has mellowed it down for this installment, with their song Iridescent.

Who says Paramore is OVER?! Well, you guys are totally wrong. Even with three members left, Paramore is still alive and rocking it out. They've even managed to covet a spot on the third installment of Transformers. They've got an original song on the soundtrack, entitled "Monster". Honestly speaking, this single gives a different vibe (not a bad one...) from the other songs that they did in the past. It sounds and seems like that they've used advanced instruments and stuffs, that's why it sounded that way. Lyric wise, love it, it totally gets the story line of the movie.

"I'll stop the whole world, I'll stop the whole world
From turning into a monster and eating us alive
Don't you ever wonder how we survive?
Well now that your gone, the world is ours..."

Tracklist:

01. Linkin Park - Iridescent
02. Paramore - Monster
03. My Chemical Romance - The Only Hope For Me Is You
04. Taking Back Sunday - Faith
05. Staind - The Bottom

ALBUM PICK OF THE WEEK: WHEN THE SUN GOES DOWN

Album Title: WHEN THE SUN GOES DOWN
Artist: SELENA GOMEZ & THE SCENE

Upbeat. Party-like songs. Those are just some of the words that can describe Selena’s 3rd studio album. She has really come a long way since her first album, in terms of her style and her vocals. It seems like the songs that were picked for this album has a certain beat that is common to all of them and it is very noticeable once you hear it. And it feels like the songs can be woven into one, which is a really great thing considering it is an album. And also a great plus for this album are the composers that are in it. Big names like Britney Spears (When the Sun Goes Down), Katy Perry (That’s more like it) and Pixie Lott (We Own the Night) are just some of the names that are tied up with this album.
Great job, TEAM SELENA!

Tracklisting:

1. Love You Like A Love Song
2. Bang Bang Bang
3. Who Says
4. We Own The Night
5. Hit The Lights
6. Whiplash
7. When The Sun Goes Down
8. My Dilemma
9. That's More Like It
10. Outlaw
11. Middle Of Nowhere
12. Dices (Who Says Spanish Version)

MUSIC VIDEOS:

WHO SAYS

This song is also used in Selena's movie, Monte Carlo which opened on July 1st.

With the course I’m taking up, AB Journalism, fourth year students are required by their professor in Electronic Newsroom to put up their own blogs. So I’ve decided that as early as now, being a third year student, who already owns a blog, I’m going take blogging seriously this time. For me this blog is not just for requirements sake, but this blog is where I can really post and say what’s really boiling up inside me.

That’s why I decided to change my blog title and url (formerly know as www.mandalovesrobsten.blogspot.com) to www.reviewsramblingsrobsten.blogspot.com. By the name itself, I’m gonna be posting movie, book, album, soundtrack, song reviews every week or every other week. Ramblings, anything that enters my mind, I’m going to post it here and share with all of you. And lastly ROBSTEN, my blog won’t be complete without me talking about them. They’re my idols and I adore them so much.

So, that’s it. Hope you still visit my blog!
Thanks!
